Hello, I'm Nikki, and I've had the pleasure of helping professionals improve their English for over 20 years. My journey in aviation English is a story of following my passions, both for languages and aviation.
Back in 2002, my love for languages brought me from the UK to Spain, where I quickly found myself immersed in the world of language education.
After several years spent running my own language school and working as a Cambridge English Examiner, I was fortunate to be able to merge my love for languages with my enthusiasm for aviation when I became an Aviation English Examiner at a well-known flight school in Jerez, Spain. This perfect blend of aviation and language education ultimately led to the creation of AV8 Testing & Training, a business dedicated to offering aviation English courses and ICAO ELP tests to pilots and air traffic controllers.
My thirst for languages continues, and these days I dedicate my free time to studying Korean (a slow process!) and dreaming about where I can travel next. As for the future? I'm working towards combining my love of aviation, languages, and travel as a digital nomad - because who says you can't test and teach from anywhere in the world?

Aviation Language Proficiency Examiner
Hey! I'm Sol, a certified English-Spanish translator and aviation English teacher whose journey with languages began at a very young age.
My passion for communication has led me to live in several countries - spending significant time in the UK, Ireland, France, and Australia - gathering valuable linguistic and cultural experiences along the way.
Aviation runs in my family, and what started as a seed planted by relatives blossomed into a fulfilling career. For eight years, I managed the Language Department at one of the world's leading aviation schools, where I had the privilege of guiding future pilots and air traffic controllers toward English proficiency.
As an Aviation Language Expert, I've trained both raters and interlocutors to assess ICAO Language Proficiency. Joining forces with Nikki to create AV8 Testing & Training felt like the most natural next step in my journey - combining our expertise to support the international aviation community.
When I'm not immersed in aviation English, you'll likely find me lost in a good Agatha Christie novel. Looking ahead, my goal is to develop a flexible working arrangement that allows me to balance my passion for aviation English with quality time with my family.

A320 Pilot & Aviation English Examiner
Hi! I'm Antonio, and my love affair with aviation began at six months old - although I don't remember that first flight! Growing up travelling overseas to visit my mum's family on a regular basis meant I spent a lot of time on aeroplanes, and somewhere between those early flights, a passion for aviation took root.
The aviation industry wasn't very solid when I finished school, so I was encouraged to study business at university and completed a master's degree in management. But the thought of spending my days behind a desk crunching numbers just didn't sit right with me, so I started exploring ways to make my childhood dream a reality.
In 2022, I finally achieved what I'd been working towards - I became a commercial pilot and began flying the Airbus A320.
I became an Aviation English Examiner in 2023, and most recently, in 2025, I qualified as an ATC Theoretical Instructor.
Beyond aviation, I'm a language enthusiast (I speak English, Spanish, and some German as well) and a huge football fan - I even spent nine years as a referee!
